HOW TO READ YOUR CUSTOMER’S MINDS – AND USE WHAT YOU FIND TO SKYROCKET YOUR SALES.

May 19, 2024

If you want to know exactly what every person thinks when they come across your business, and how to leverage that to make irresistible offers…this article will show you exactly that.

There’s a “plague” going on in marketing, and it’s that the vast majority of businesses are utterly self-obsessed.

Everything in their marketing screams “Look at me!” or “Buy! Buy! Buy!”

And while it makes sense in theory – show your customers how great you are and convince them to buy… it doesn’t work in practice.

You’re never going to get your ideal customers to buy from you by

a) talking up your business or

b) telling them they should buy.

Because the truth of the matter is, your customers don’t care.

THE FIVE MOST IMPORTANT LETTERS IN BUSINESS

One of my mentors always told me: “The most important radio station in all of business is WII FM.”

He was on the…older…side, so radio was a big thing in his time.

But I never forgot those five letters, because they stand for something that’s shaped the way I see marketing, and will ever see marketing for the rest of my life.

The letters stand for:

“What’s. In. It. For. Me?”

And, even if you don’t realize it, this question is what every human being instinctually considers before they do ANYTHING.

Why do people buy ice cream? It tastes good.

Why do people go to the gym? To get fit.

Why do people give to the poor? It feels good to help others.

Love it or hate it, you can’t change the facts…

Your self-interests influence everything you do.

But what does this have to do with marketing?

WRITE IN BENEFITS

If you want to get more people interested in what you sell, tell them why they should care, not why you are so awesome.

Before you write a single piece of marketing for your business, don’t ask yourself “How can I sell this product?”

Instead, ask yourself… “How does this add more value to my customers?”

Then write your marketing about that.

Hope this helps.
